The exhibits are varied and engaging, ranging from the 15th-century to the present day with big names and the unknown. The permanent collection is free to visit, with temporary changing displays that may charge an admission fee (check out their very reasonable priced season ticket).

The gallery is set over 2 floors, with the permanent display upstairs and temporary downstairs. At the opposite end of Great Pulteney Street, the Holburne Museum is well worth a visit to contrast and compliment the two collections.
